It's blowing up a storm here. Unlit Christmas lights swinging about and all that.
The ghostly Halloween hand is a brass door-knocker from Malaga. My wallpaper, y'know,
Oh Jesus, I hope I get some intervention before 2020. I don't deserve it, I just need it.
This is the first time I think your wonderful window might have some drawbacks as well.
ReplyDeleteActually I like the Christmas lights, though they have been getting very boring since the financial crisis. Last year those lights remained dark all through Christmas because a fault with the wiring. I almost complained to the council, but didn't.
DeleteReminded me of the 'Hand of Glory' in Whitby museum. https://whitbymuseum.org.uk/whats-here/collections/special-collections/hand-of-glory/
ReplyDeleteIt's the time of year for spooky stories!
What a great story and what a great museum. Thanks for pointing me to it. Whitby is also famous for hosting Bram Stoker's creation too...
DeleteI meant to say that I once visited an elderly ex army officers large country house and saw that he had a Hand of Glory on his desk. The wrist was capped with silver like a lucky rabbit's foot. He kept paper clips in it...
DeleteLooks like the beginning of a horror film.
ReplyDeleteYes. Very Halloween.
DeleteHoly Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners.
ReplyDeleteAmen. That's to get you some intervention.
Thanks.
DeleteI would have imagined you opening your computer to Georgian glasses or candlesticks as your wallpaper ...... or a naked woman 🤣 XXXX
ReplyDeleteWell it's brass.
DeleteThe wallpaper on my phone is Mister Beans face superimposed onto the painting of Mrs. Frank Millet by John Singer Sargent. He has this inquisitive look on his face as if he wants to know what I have been up to.
ReplyDeleteAnd what have you been up to?
DeleteHa! Something a little naughty, something a little nice.
DeleteI hope the new year brings you happiness tom
ReplyDeleteI hope it brings happiness to us all eh?
