Hooray!

The Supreme Court has ruled that Boris Johnson acted unlawfully. Parliament returns tomorrow. I hope he makes history - by being the shortest lasting Prime Minister in history.

  1. Yes, then we can have comrade Corbyn, and all send our children to Windsor Comprehensive.

    1. I thought you liked the Queen? Party loyalty can go too far you know.

    1. And then the nightmare continues. We can't let Boris Johnson get away with that, despite the outcome. None of them are worth voting for, so I suppose it's going to have to be Lib Dem for me. We're fucked whatever happens.

    2. If I had to vote now, I would probably vote Lib Dem too. Take us back to pre-referendum days, and hope that no-one notices.

    3. The thing is that with anyone other than the Lib Dems, you will either get the far right or the far left. There is no middle ground anymore, and the defections from both sides make them the only option as far as I can see. It is really important to keep Corbyn out. It is really important to keep Johnson out too. We must vote even though none of them are respected.

    4. I'll vote for anyone who promises to revoke article 50. Our MP is a little twerp who thinks Boris will engage in "open and expansive government". Which presumably means lying through his teeth, promising things he can't possibly deliver and using dirty tricks to get what he wants.

  3. Actually, I'm beginning to think Jeremy Corbyn's stance on Brexit is sensible because it has a chance of healing the big divide. If he negotiates a soft Brexit deal and then has a referendum, I would hope most would accept the outcome.

    1. I thought that his stance was going to be the Lib Dem one, but they both blew it.

  4. The fact that he hasn't got away with his dirty tricks has given me hope that honesty and integrity are still thought to be important in a leader.
If he had got away with it goodness knows what would have become of us as a nation. The Brexit nut jobs are already back in "enemies of the people" mode.

    1. He doesn't know anything other than dirty tricks - or at least Cummings doesn't anyway. Cummings has nothing to lose so can afford to be brave.

  7. Coincidently, there are fireworks happening in the US today also. Hopefully, it is the beginning of the end of 45. One can only hope. Not a good day for fake blond haired men.

    1. Yes, he was given a stark warning by the Supreme Court not to consider it, but by now he and his puppet-masters have nowhere else to go. He has taken more rope than he needs. It really is 'do or die' as he vowed. We will not need any masks this Halloween.

  9. Jacob Rees-Mogg should be the first to resign. His sprawling on the green benches during a speech by a fellow Parliamentarian was a graphic and unforgettable demonstration of his utter contempt for the House of Commons. He is a disgrace and - being pragmatic - an all too easy target for left-wing prejudice, no matter where you stand on the issues.

  10. Our one's made it three years. That's far longer to mislead the public, that's for sure.

    1. He has a Republican majority in the Senate and he chooses the Supreme Court judge. We, at the moment, don't act along American lines.

    1. I would think she is livid. What with Cameron telling everyone that he got her to get involved with the Scottish independence vote and her purring down the phone, she must think that these are the worst Prime Ministers she has ever had to deal with.

    2. She could be livid. Her reasons for this might be multiple.

    3. The breakup of the Union has never been so close. A hard border with Scotland would leave England and Wales trapped in the middle.

    4. The SNP are responsible for wanting independence for Scotland.

    5. It's so bloody obvious that Scotland we be worse off on their own. Where did the oil money go? They hate the English for obvious reasons and they traditionally like the French.
