Ridley Walker

Russell Hoban. Ever read it?

This was done on my phone which is running out of power.

  1. I must confess Tom, this sort of genre has always scared the snot out of me. That said, I think I'll see if it's recorded by anyone. It's easier to turn a book off than close one.

    1. I wonder if you would find it easier after the bang on your head or more difficult. Like I said to Rachel, it takes a while to tune into the style, but I have to admit it is not a very cheery read.

  2. No. It sounds like it would do my head in trying to read it.

    1. It takes a few pages to tune into the style of language it is written in, but once you have it is brilliant. Russell Hoban said he wrote it almost automatically.

    2. He wrote like that, without planning. A bit like I do my blog. He said he never planned any of his writing. Just sat down and wrote what came. I will look out for it, the book, and any book with his name on.

    3. I do the same with my blog, but I can't write as well as Hoban.

  3. I am relieved to hear it is only your phone running out of power.
