This is going to help

Hungary is going to make giving a refugee food or drink a criminal offence soon if the president gets his way.

  1. Illegal immigrants. Once more we have that definition that gets lost. Illegals v legals.

    1. What is a 'legal immigrant', and would you criminalise your own people for preventing someone from dying of thirst and hunger, rather than let the police do the job they are paid for?

  4. They will have to develop a mechanism of reporting and informing and monitoring and punishing,or they already have it.

    1. It will have to be random, or it will be another way of getting back on your neighbours.

  5. Here if a refugee goes to a doctor the doctor must report him, so the refugees are afraid to seek help and this could cause spreading of deseases such as tuberulosis. Some doctors are now saying that it is not a good idea to report.

  7. Why do British hauliers get fined £2000 per illegal immigrant who climbs into their lorry to get here from France? Is that fair?

  8. I wonder who of us actually would not feed a hungry person. I've paid for meals in my country; I would pay for a meal in Hungary.

    1. And why punish someone further for misfortune? I have absolutely one golden rule: Never refuse food or drink to anyone who asks for it. This is fundamental to civilised society. Arab hospitality is a duty. Ramadan is the prime time when the poor are fed. They are duty bound, and with good reason. It heals your soul to help others in distress, and providing food is the most fundamental way of healing yourself, let alone the hungry. All religions teach this.

    2. -volunteered at a charity in ZH that participated in something called Schweizer Tafel. It was, in essence, a food 'shop' set-up whereby those in need could could come in order to stock up on a few bags of fruit and veg (& meat, if I remember correctly). Clients of the service were native Swiss, asylum seekers and refugees. Not only was it a good thing to do, but it was the right thing to do to provide for those in need.

  9. This is destined to fail, as indeed it should. How could you refuse to feed someone hungry?
