Here's a little glimpse of The Silent Pool. No film could ever capture the peace of the place, and this one belies the legend that no bird has ever sung on its banks since King John's men drove the maiden into it to drown. Oh well.
I started crying when I saw this when I just got back from my brother's house. He was in his pond, so water did feature in my life this afternoon. What matters most to me is to know I am not alone in this and a few words of support help me more than you could ever know. Thank you and I liked the film and the thought from you so much xxx
It was amazing especially as when I arrived my brother was unexpectedly in the pond. Then finding the film when I got home and then I saw how similar the pond was.
Great minds think alike Tom ...... I have done a post for Rachel. It’s good to all stick together when times are rough. We can’t do much but maybe it helps to know people are thinking of you. XXXX
It does Jackie. To know I am not alone and to exchange words means so much and takes me out of the dark situation that I am in here if only for a few moments at a time, it helps. xxx
I quite like the 1950s 'film that dad made on a Super 8' quality of this little film. Almost random content.
ReplyDeleteI think the birdsong was dubbed. Phew.
DeleteI liked being in the car.
DeleteSomething else that reminded me of my 1950s father! Drives through Surrey in the car!
DeleteThe drive had a 1950s feel to it.

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing. Just the sort of water I hoped you would find today. Very much like a Silent Pool miniature in fact.

DeleteWe are never truly alone, no matter how much we sometimes crave to be.
DeleteThe fact that we are all rallying round to send our love to Rachel proves the very best about blogging.
