I died

I used to conjure up the darkness. I used to be quite good at it. These days I prefer the light.

At one point about 40 years ago, I saw an invisible boundary on a road late at at night, and knew that if even one foot went over it, there would be no return.

So don't try and scare me with your ghost stories. I love them. I miss them.

  1. I adore a good ghost story.
I have many tucked away for children to be scared by ( and enjoy) one day!

    2. Lovely. We need this stuff. There is nothing finer than to sit in a warm and cosy cottage with cold and foul weather outside, listening to a bone fide ghost story. Dickens knew that.

  2. Just sometimes I get caught up in a good ghost story. It must be well told. Or, I could be persuaded, just to get in from the cold.

  3. In the 60's my father, an artist-cop-mechanic would gather us kids around a pile of burning leaves at the end of the driveway. Neighborhood kids would join and he would tell the story of Ichabod Crane. No one, and I mean no one, could tell it like my da.

  4. I used to love a bit of horror ..... was always going to see those rubbish X films !!! But, since horror films have become so scary, i’m not quite so keen ...... but, a clever ghost story is good. XXXX

    1. I loved the chintzy Hammer films, but these days Hollywood has turned 'horror' into violence of the kind that happens all the time in real life. Who needs that?

  5. Both Lady M and myself keep seeing an elderly lady here, but seeing as I don't believe in ghosts, it can't be one.

    1. As I was climbing up the stair,
      I met a man who wasn't there.
      He wasn't there again today.
I wish that man would go away.
