As rough as a badger's arse
Time for another crap photo. I am going to be working all weekend. I must get this bloody badger cub finished. I need the bloody money. Bloody hell.
When I put the claws on yesterday, it suddenly all made sense. Because the plaster is white, I kept having to stop myself from modelling a miniature polar bear at the start. Then, when I began the face, I had to stop thinking of piglets. Badger's eyes are very similar to piglets, I have discovered.
The claws are made of wood. I will cover them in hard plaster today, remodel the feet, then the final process of fur texture should be the last thing to do.
Until you actually count them, it always seems as if badgers have more toes than any other mammal.
I must take it away on Monday. Bloody hell. I seem to remember beginning it when the weather was warm. Bloody hell.

Are we going to get a photograph of the finished badger?
ReplyDeleteSadly, I am not allowed to show you photos of the finished things.
DeleteGet to work, the day has nearly gone.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where last year went.
DeleteI hope you counted those toes very carefully. I thought they had four...
ReplyDelete5. I can prove it.
DeleteEach foot. 20 total.
DeleteEenie meenie miney mo, catch a Badger by one of his toes.
ReplyDeleteCareful.
DeleteIt looks like one of Sendak's wild things.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does. The face doesn't though!
DeleteSo far so good...
ReplyDeleteGreetings Maria x
p.s. regarding Fellini's films, I do enjoy them but I have to watch the film the second time to appreciate it better. Have you seen Fellini's last film, The Great Beauty?
DeleteI the the moon one was his last? I think I have seen the other.
DeleteThought.
DeleteSorry Tom, yes Fellini's La Voce della Luna was his last film but I incorrectly repeated Fellini; I meant Sorrentino's Great Beauty x
DeleteYes, I have seen that. Lovely film. I love that balding actor.
DeleteWell, early evening now, by my atomic clock. I hope you made good progress.
ReplyDeleteSpot on. My comment says 8:17; the clock is 11:17. Daylight savings time is done, too.
Delete10 more claws fitted Captain. Just getting some shut-eye, then it's all hands on deck again. Well, two hands anyway. Ten fingers. Mine. Well, eight fingers and two thumbs. Both mine.
DeleteHey - interesting: first thing I did when I looked at your photo was counting the nails... I wish that you succeed soon - and show us the whole badger.
ReplyDeleteAs I was away for a while: what happened to Rachel's blog?
Different address. Click on her name and you'll find it.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Found it.
