Winter and Spring

Two posts in one day. I know, I am getting as bad as John. I just wanted to show you this picture that I took a couple of minutes ago. He is the Blackbird who sings all day and all night outside my bedroom window. I appreciate his warblings a lot.

  1. He is a fine blackbird. We have one too. Peter talks to it and uses his hand miming like a beak to it. I am not sure how much he means his joy at its singing. He looks for it each morning as he leaves. I think it stops at night though. I wouldn't know, I have passed out by then.

    1. Whole hand, similar to the gesture he uses when imitating my mouth.

    2. Ah. A blah blah gesture. I was thinking of dog barking split fingers. My ex used to give magpies the military salute rather than wish them good morning.

    3. His hand moves in a friendly manner to the blackbird; a blah blah manner to me.

  2. Lovely photograph ...... nothing says Spring more than the song of a blackbird. We have one too..... intact, I think we have several singing to attract a mate. XXXX

    2. It's late and you were up for the Dawn Chorus. Don't be too hard on yourself.

  5. When we have our early evening glass of rouge, there's a Blackbird who starts singing just behind us at precisely 5.30 pm. Do you think they have watches? Maybe they listen to the church bells!

  6. He stands proud. They help serenade me in the morning through by upstairs bedroom.
