Anyone else?

Will George Michael be the last famous person to kick the bucket in 2016? There is still a few days to go, and there are a few members of the Royal Family who aren't feeling too well at the moment. Let's hope George wins that particular accolade.

  1. I was thinking the same thing. And he was outside the age bracket if you know what I mean. Poor George.

    1. In death, there is hope. They found a chocolate bar up his arse. They think it was a careless Whispa.

  2. Queen will live to 110 if she has to, to keep Charles off the throne.

    1. She does have a somewhat over-developed sense of duty.

  3. There's at least one I wish would!

  4. You've probably also ventured off to the land of nod, but I have now hear that actress Liz Smith has died.

I loved her performances, beginning with that film, A Private Function.

Belated Happy Boxing Day wishes to you.

    1. I'm so sad to hear that Liz Smith has left us. I know she was 95, but I shall still miss her.
      Thanks, Frances.
And count me as another who hopes Her Maj outlives Charles. Ugh.

    2. Sorry to say that I cannot remember who Liz Smith is, but I am sure I would know her face. I like Charles. His heart is in the right place, and anyone who talks to trees cannot be all bad.

  5. On the plus side, I'm told that Corbyn isn't feeling too good.

    1. It wouldn't make too much difference either way now that he has fulfilled - for better or worse - his function.

  6. I love the Queen; long live the Queen.

    1. I am told that the Queen is a very considerate and friendly person, as when she copied the bad table-manners of a state guest to prevent him from feeling bad.

    2. Wasn't that Queen Victoria, drinking tea from a saucer?

    1. I can think of a few that I would dearly love to fall off their perches before the end of the year, the orange emperor, Boris and the farage to name but a few.
And the person who developed predictive text .....
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    2. It is sad to see you stoop to these levels. You are as bad as the ones you despise.

    3. There are not many people who I would wish dead who fall outside of the Hitler category of dangerous people. I like Boris for instance - he is an amusing man who would be good if he were not contaminated by ruthless ambition. With Trump, however, I am not so sure he has any redeeming features, and only history will tell if he approaches anything like the level of Hitler's enormity. If you really do trust in God, then vengeance in advance is His.

  8. Missed Christmas with pleurisy. I loved Liz Smith too. But my greatest losses this year have been David Bowie (My God) and Alan Rickman (my fantasy)

    1. That's a bad thing to have at any time, let alone Christmas. I miss Rickman's portrayal as Snipe. Maggie Smith didn't like it, though.

  9. Carrie Fisher. Richard Adams. A french Jazz musician who I have not heard of. There's still time.

  10. Bit sick of me, but any bets on Brucie?

  11. I vote for TrumpPence. The bad penny combo that won't go away.

  12. And valé Carrie Fisher. I had a feeling her family were holding off from taking her off the ventilator and the necessary drugs that would have been keeping her alive until well after Christmas.
Only 60, which is much too young by my reckoning.

  13. Well, despite the best health treatment in the country and probably free, something we'd all love to have, surely the Queen and Prince Philip can't survive much longer, can they?

    1. Queen Mum was 102. She'll only die when Charles renounces his claim to the throne.

    2. If I had doctors like hers, I would probably live to 102 as well, Gawd bless 'er.

  14. Nobody's mentioned 'Sykes' the dog from Misommer Murders. Not only was he dead in the Christmas 'special', but he died in 'real life' too.

  15. Oh, I'm sure that when the rest of us die it will be with pure and spotless reputations.

    1. Fuck anyone else - this is my fucking blog, so I will say what I fucking well like. Who the fuck is 'Sykes'?

    2. Don't take the above personally - I was not serious. Anyway, who is Sykes?

  17. Tom, just saying none of us have histories that would hold up well under public scrutiny. Unless, of course you do. In which case, my humblest apologies. Love your mastery of this wonderful English language of ours. Most impressive! You should know by now not to take me seriously. Unless I'm being serious, and then you can. Anyway hope you have a great new year.

    1. Yes, I just said the same thing about taking me serious too, before I read this comment. The more I drink, the greater the mastery of the English language.

  18. Sykes was the dog in Midsommer murders...plus numerous commercials. He must have mad a fortune for his owners. Then they retired him and he died. In the MSM Christmas special there was quite a moving scene by his grave.
