Save the BBC

I have just bought my first TV licence for about 35 years. That is how strongly I feel about it, and even though I still do not intend to watch TV any time soon, I would like to be able to help protect the one remaining, valuable British asset from the hands of all those sharks out there.

We cannot let this carve-up happen. It will have world-wide repercussions.

  1. The BBC is flawed, idealistic, headstrong and noble, perhaps prone to self-delusion, a sort of corporate version of yourself. How much is that license?

    1. May both them and I continue to be so, but it doesn't as much money to keep me flawed, idealistic, headstrong and noble. £145.50.

    2. ... but I delude myself - it takes more than £145.50.

  2. P.S., My good mate Colin (see recent posts) has died. Truly the end of an era for me and many others.

    1. So sorry to hear that your friend Colin has died. Sad times for you …. comforting to have had that telephone conversation with him the other week.
      Thinking of you all. XXXX

    2. Yes, thanks. His funeral is Friday. Bloody inconvenient, but there we are...

  3. You are 30 years behind the times. Keep your money for your Ebay hobby. People I know no longer want to pay for the rubbish on BBC television

    1. This particular view of yours about privatisation is probably the one I find most unappealing. You spent too long on the stock markets for me to take anything you say at all seriously. I think you need to re-visit your childhood and pick the bits most worth remembering.

  4. I, along with millions, love BBC in America.

So sorry about your friend. Having lost (too many), I know that pain.
