Begin here...
The blank canvas - a 24 mega-pixel photo of The Bell front, as seen from the position of the 15,000 lumen projectors. It took a while to upload here, despite Blogger stuffing it into the largest box they have to hand.
It's all slowly coming together and the video artist is - I hope and assume - working on it as I write. One ingenious solution to one small problem: what to do about the sound-track? Everyone began talking about rigging wires across the road using Christmas light fixings, then I remembered Blue-Tooth speakers. Short of a double-decker bus parking right in front, they should work well in this sight-line.
That street-light to the left is a problem though, and I haven't quite resolved it in my mind yet. Someone - somehow - is going to have to get up there and shroud it.
I am looking forward to the actual event, and I'm looking forward to be able to show you it on You Tube. The Boy is going to film it on the night, as I am sure a few others will too.

Depends on how much clotted cream you send to me.
ReplyDeleteOne of your more cryptic comments, especially as we are not known for clotted cream in this county.
DeleteIt can be obtained in Tesco's and Sainsbury's so stop trying to opt out.
DeleteI used to eat clotted cream when I lived in Somerset.
What larks; I'd love to be there.... alas.

ReplyDeleteThere's going to be three showings - you missed out one comment.
DeleteIf all else fails, shoot it. The light, I mean. Amidst all the other shooting, it might be unnoticed for three nights. A starter's pistol should do the job, though I think I recall a blunderbuss in your collection.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the date for the big event?
ReplyDeleteMay 22nd, 23rd and 24th. - 10.00pm.
DeleteI rather go along with Joanne's comment - we have lights which have been out for months so I am pretty sure that strategy would work.
ReplyDeleteI bet they weren't shot out though.
DeleteMy friend bought a house that included one of those horrid mercury vapor lamps near her bedroom window. There are hundreds of light switches in the house but she never found the one that worked the light. So, she took her gun and shot it. The only way I know about such violence and you never know about the lights at Weave's place. A little pistol that fits in your pocket is all you need to eliminate an annoying light.
Delete... and be imprisoned for at least 5 years...
DeleteStarter pistol it is, then.
DeleteYou have to begin somewhere. Baby's first pistol!
DeleteOk, now we are on to you, Joanne! In a former life you must have been some special secret commando agent (MI5 or 6 or 7). Looking all innocent and talking about shooting out lights!!
DeleteLooking forward to seeing the video !
ReplyDeleteThis is such an exciting project. Of course I have been following it with great interest. Unplug the light. Heh.
ReplyDeleteWe thought of that - the whole street would be in darkness.
