Rough Diamond

Two phrases (or descriptions, before any of you pedants jump on me) floated into my head this morning - 'Brilliant Cut' for diamonds, and 'Herding Cats' for what I will be doing as Project Manager for the next round of improvements to our pub.

I have two jobs to finish this week before I can get down to the serious work of icing the cake.

  1. Herding cats - never heard that before but brilliant. Talk about a totally impossible task. As for diamonds - as far as I am concerned they are certainly a girl's best friend.

    1. Never heard it, and 20 years older than me?

  2. Why not make a large, solid block of royal icing and sculpt it into something impressive (Jesus on a unicorn?), then hollow the base and fill it with a rich fruit cake?

    1. I will be doing something like that, albeit in reverse order and with secular subject matter.

  3. I had to do a double take on 'cut'. I then stopped reading due to disappointment.

    1. Sorry. Next time I will make it one paragraph.

    2. If I am disappointed in the first paragraph it makes no difference.

    3. Well fuck off then and leave me alone! (I am taking the piss out of you with this comment, I don't really mean it, just incase you are feeling a bit sensitive tonight)

  4. Is 'Rachel' a pseudonym used by your brother?

    1. I don't know, but it might explain the lengthy conversations I have to go through to make up lost time.
