Holidays are harder work than working

I need to rest.  Right now, I am somewhat overwhelmed with vitriolic bile following Cameron's idiotic speech using his family as an easy clap-trap when it comes to his defence of the NHS.

The energy companies seem to have mislaid £1.6 Billion from the money they took from us on our bills to tick  some GREEN boxes. Now where can that have gone? I'm sure it was here somewhere... (pats pockets).

The British Border Control authorities let in a Latvian convicted murderer who has disappeared immediately after a 16 year-old girl was killed and dumped in a river. Nice work.

Never mind the Fine Art world. Some things are more important than a few rich people getting ripped-off for a few thousand quid.

Still, look on the bright side - the minimum wage may be up to £8 per hour in only 6 years time!

  1. I didn't watch Dave, but I've just been reading that his speech was 'a six, from the moment it left the bat'. Which of you is right?

    1. I only heard bits of it, but he managed to muster up some almost convincing passion and simulated anger.

  2. The speech has been well received right across all the papers, including the Guardian. I heard some of it on the radio last night and I admit when he started shouting about the NHS and his son and how he would never let anyone down I wanted to throw up. How they propose to fund the tax cuts is anyone's guess. However, vote Labour at your peril.

As for Border Controls we don't appear to have any. We let in murderers from Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland and we don't know it until they murder again when they get here. We lose a 15 girl leaving the country for Syria and we don't know where she has gone although we are to assume she bought a ticket to enable her to travel on some form of transport out of the country but no passenger lists exist.

    1. Yes, the bloke they are looking for is Latvian, not Lithuanian.

Every time I return to England, I am struck by how much longer it takes to get through British border controls than any other country. You would think that with that level of scrutiny, they would be able to keep track of the comings and goings of 15 year-old girls and murderers, wouldn't you?

  3. I was appalled by the way the cameras made sure they were centred on Sam's face when Cameron mentioned the death of his son. And that same highly intrusive photograph is on the front of the Times this morning - how dare they.
And I am not even a Tory (my father would turn in his grave at that)!

    1. They would sell their own mothers to get a vote - literally.

  4. I watched the PM's speech and thought he delivered it very well -- it was a load of pap of course, but he didn't forget any major issues. Of course his promised tax cuts are a laugh, since by the time they come into effect at the end of the next parliament in 2020 inflation would have given them to us anyway!

Lib Dems next week -- now that should be good ...
