One hundred percent sacred

Not Handel, not Mozart, nor any of the others, J.S. Bach was 100% Sacred, thank God.
My only worry is that he inspired so much god-awful jazz music.
Happy Sunday.

  1. Somewhere I still have a Swingle Singers album of J S Bach music. When I was 13 I thought it was really cool.

  2. Your mention of J.S. BACH stirs my memories Tom. At the age of 15 my school arranged a trip to Luneburg, specifically to St. John's Church to hear an organ recital of Bach's music. It was my first trip out of England & I with £150 in my pocket had a whale of a time for two weeks.
Co-incidentally Bach was also 15 when he walked 200 miles to become an apprentice chorister in Luneburg approx 250 years before my visit.

    1. Good trip for a young man. It is amazing that Bach spent his entire life being frugally paid by the Church, when most others were trying to be gainfully employed by the Royal Courts.

  3. My first serious lover affair was with a man who played the cello and introduced me to the Bach Cello Suites. I'll always love him for that!

    1. Bo Derek used to do the same thing to Ravel's 'Bolero' - so I am told.
