Home is where you hang your hat
Walking through the woodland near my workshop recently, I came upon this furry witch's hat, stuck up in the branches of an oak tree. I left it where it was.
The weather stays cold and miserable, but we can console ourselves that it is due to get slightly warmer as of this Good Friday, when a warm Atlantic front collides head on with the Scandinavian blast, right over our heads in Britain. This will probably mean that a few billion tons of water will be dropped on us, and the water might come in the form of snow, which will make a nice, festive, Easter change.
Talking of witches, Richard Griffiths (the actor who played Harry Potter's step-father) died last yesterday, aged just 65. Shame - I really liked him. You get a better class of witch in my area - fur!

WTF! WTF! WTF! Who's a pretty boy, then?
ReplyDeleteI know!!! Just 65! Too close for comfort. I really like(d) him too.
ReplyDeleteWeather is bonkers all around the world. We are still having summer heat and it hasn't rained for months. We could do with some of those tons of water you speak of.
Come and get it?
DeleteI like the expression 'last yesterday', I do hope you'll copyright it.
ReplyDeleteOh yes - That happened when I deleted most of 'last night' to 'yesterday', because I was not sure of the time. I like it too, so I'll leave it.
DeleteSnow slowly melting in Berlin, sad about Richard Griffith, loved him especially as uncle Monty in 'Withnail&I".
ReplyDeleteYes, he was very good in that.
DeleteI've noticed that curly hair is great fur in the winter. It seems to lock the body heat in. I have no need for a beannie unless it is blowing.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, we are heading into the most beautiful season here. The wind and the unbearable heat gives way to still, crystalline, blue sky days. Just gorgeous.
Don't tell anyone. :~)
I have always benefitted from a massive head of hair as well, Sarah. Aren't we lucky? Well you are, anyway, with your beautiful season. Bon voyage.
