I would have to kill you

Winter at the Shape-Shifting Shop

I had a chance meeting with a woman who I haven't seen for six years last night. I was only saying to H.I. a day ago, that I really needed to talk to this woman, because she has certain attributes which make her the ideal focal-point for the project about which I cannot say too much at present, and I never expected to see her again - ever - since she moved from Bath to West Sussex (as it transpired) that long ago.

I am not deliberately trying to be mysterious - I would dearly love to spill my guts about the whole thing, but there's politics involved and doing so might put a jinx on it right from the start, and I have over a year to go before the thing can become a reality. Suffice to say that her fortuitous arrival last night seemed to be a little more than chance.

When she lived in Bath, I never actually met her, though I would often see her around and thought how well she would suit a project such as the one that has only just been dreamed up in the last week or two - that's what I mean by 'a little more than chance'.

I walked straight up to her last night, introduced myself to her and immediately propositioned her to sound out her willingness to get involved in a project which is a million miles away from her chosen profession, and she immediately agreed.

"Would I have to sleep with you?" she asked.

"It's not obligatory," was my considered response.

I took her photo and we exchanged phone numbers and email addresses. I'll keep you as informed as you need to be.

  1. Sometimes I can see a future, and in darker moments I cannot. This is where 'faith' comes into it, when optimism is in short supply.

    2. 'Ello 'ello - Listen carefully - I will say this only once... She is to feature in a short film, and if I showed you the photo, you would understand completely.

  5. Propositioned? What's that Tom? It's so long since it happened to me that I have forgotten what it is like!!!

    1. That assertion flies in the face of a post you made purely in order to embarrass Dominic fairly recently.

  6. I love when things like that happen. Sounds like a project that's meant to be.

  7. So nice you had your wide angle shape shifting camera. Is the shop in the building with the chimney pots, or in one of the outbuildings?

You are very good at mysterious writing.

    1. The shop was at my back in that photo, the rest is just landscape. The wide angle is just cropping, I am ashamed to say. Every one loves a little mystery - except Sherlock.

  8. Before you mentioned that she is to be featured in a short film, I thought that you might make a bust of her bust. (I blame my dirty thoughts on her - she did bring up the thought of the 'casting couch'.

    1. Tits again, eh? IRIS! I would like to say that I am ashamed of you, but I am just proud.

    2. (Look up the Shakespearian definition of 'proud'...)

  9. The only thing that I found was some reference to 'proud flesh'.

I, myself, can hardly believe the things that I say on the internet sometimes. In reality I am quite timid and shy. Good ol' Freud would probably have a thing or two to say about that.

    1. I am sorely tempted to quote an Elizabethan bit of slang which is wonderfully apt, but very coarse - knowing how shy you are, I will not, though.

  10. Oh, but you did, Tom. "whosoever hath thy will..."
