New regime?
Due to pressure caused by evil usurers and tight-fisted customers (one, actually - the first in many years) I have been getting up in the dark and working twice as hard on that marble arse as I normally would, and I think this may be the beginning of a new - if temporary - regime.
This means that if all goes to plan, I am going to cut my blogging down to a bare minimum and save my energy for staying alive until Christmas, when I will probably collapse in an exhausted heap, rising only to cook dinner for six people as tradition demands.
So I am going to see if I can keep my virtual mouth shut for most of the week, but - you know me - I might start gabbling away as usual as early as tonight.
I've done my bloody back in as well, and it takes me about 10 minutes to get out of bed at the moment. This is unfortunate, as I am now working at ankle-level on Venus, and once I am down there it takes about 10 minutes of extreme pain to stand up again. Usually - and it is very rare - my back only gives out under emotional stress, so I put it down to that again.
I have picked the wrong time to begin getting old - winter!

well, I for one will mourn your lack of posts........x
ReplyDeletesee you later!
no! I WILL see you later!
DeleteYou will... or at least hear from me.
DeleteLike John, I shall miss your posts too.
ReplyDeleteDon't work too hard and I hope that it won't be long before you are back with us.
Hope that your back is better soon. XXXX
No danger of working too hard.
DeleteI used to look at old codgers, with their bent backs, and think 'I hope I don't end up like that'. The way things are going, we both will.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathy is with you.
We look like a road-sign.
DeleteMy ache's and pains salute you and yours! No doubting it, you shall be missed.
ReplyDeleteI'm still here!
DeleteCould you write from a hot bath?
ReplyDeleteI always write from Bath...
DeleteOh Mighty Tom. take it easy and slow down. We'll be here when you get back and go to the doctor for some pain meds. No need to suffer old man.
ReplyDeleteWho are you calling an 'old man'?!
DeleteSpare a thouight for your readers Tom. I am suffering from the stress of Christmas too and one of the things which keeps me going is reading your blog and having a good laugh at it.
ReplyDelete'At it', or the more acceptable, 'with it', Weave?
DeleteHoping you feel better soon, Tom. Can you get one of those whatsits mechanics used to slide under cars and sit on that whilst sculpting?
ReplyDeleteI also vote for a good soak in the tub, with some epsom salts.
Add me to the list of those eagerly awaiting your return.
Hope your back heals soon. Hope you get your Venus spruced up soon, as I shall miss reading your words.
ReplyDeleteSympathies to you Tom. Back pain is a pain in the arse. Two people in the EM household are prone to it as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously considering giving up doing antique and vintage fairs because of physical strain of lifting and loading stock that seems to get heavier each time. Not to mention the cold and dark mornings of winter events. Nothing at all to do with anno domini of course.
Here's hoping you will soon succumb to writing and ranting again because I would miss you.
Haste ye back.
ReplyDeleteHaste ye back better too. Jx
Ready, Aye, Ready.
DeleteI will miss you Tom. I look forward to your posts even (or especially) the ones where I don't know what the hell you're going on about.
ReplyDeleteI hope your back gets better soon. Back pain is miserable.
Your posts shall be missed by me as well. Welcome to the "slow risers" club. It's about time someone assigned us an official handshake, logo or witty mission statement.
ReplyDeleteI have done my best to reply to all of you, but bloody Blogger made me have three attempts on the ones I did reply to, and I have now run out of steam, so - thanks to you all, and I I will do my best to reply to each as soon as my system responds a little quicker.
ReplyDeleteMy back is much improved today, btw.
I have to cook now... XXX
So you are working on her ankles now. Maybe you will feel better once you reach bum level.
ReplyDeleteI, for one, hope that you do not desert us for too long. John's comments might just jump to a hundred if you do.
Any chance of anyone giving you a backrub?
You can give me a back rub, and I'll start from the bottom and work up - like the rest of my career!
DeleteMy arms are too short for a long distance relationship rub.
DeleteOH ALL RIGHT - I'll buy you an air ticket.
