There may be trouble ahead

No, she's not dead. Dolly the Collie finds peace and solace by hanging out at my workshop when there are disturbing events in progress elsewhere.

'Disturbing Events' for her can amount to no more than a little hissy air-leak on a car-tyre. She abhors hissy sounds. If she spots a hot-air balloon - even if it is 20 miles away - she will run a mile or two if she has no table to hide beneath.

Her sister cares not a jot for hissy sounds, but cannot tolerate flies of any description. But unlike her sister, she does not like having raspberries blown onto her head in human displays of affection.

I, personally. don't go a bundle on kissing dogs in any case (though - God knows - I've had my moments), but her owner tried to blow a raspberry onto the large and muscular head of a friend's Staffordshire Bull-Terrier quite recently, and still has the scars to prove it.

Make the most of the greenery and clement weather, Dolly. There may be trouble ahead.

    1. Her workshop is close by. I fear the worst with the Volvo penetration, but I know the thing has bored everyone sick since I first got it, so I am keeping it brief until proper diagnosis.

  3. I DO kiss my dog...but just on the top of his head. Tell Dollie that I commiserate about the hot air balloons...yes, those "hissy sounds' are the pits!!

    1. I liked your marshmallow boy, Donna. There are so many cute kids out there, eh? I don't know where the hissy phobia came from, but I think I was immune to it from childhood.

  4. Both of mine find hot air balloons fascinating, and planes, and birds. In fact, they are fascinated by anything that flies... probably because they can't!

    1. I had a friend whose dog chased airplanes. Living under the flight path approach to Bristol airport meant quite a lot of chasing.
