Gruesome or what? Real dessicated dead bodies. I really like Herzog films. I've been rewatching a lot of the old ones but have not got round to this one yet.
Herzog simply went into an old Mexican crypt, leant the corpses up against the walls and filmed them. I'm not sure how ethical that was, but it made for a good intro, and saved money on props.
Are you deliberately trying to give me nightmares. Glad I sleep with the farmer, who is totally impervious to such imagery. If I lived alone I would have to sleep with the light on and some soothing music in the background.
I LOVE walt Disney! x

DeleteP.S. - Klaus Kinski makes a very good Nosferatu. He's more or less playing himself.
DeleteThose shoes at 35 secs look extremely modern!
ReplyDeleteThey are the Mexican equivalent of Edwardian. See above!

ReplyDeleteNo, I'm trying to give John nightmares. His partner sleeps with a farmer too - of sorts.
