Tom I have lost my connection which makes me able to hear these (I shall no doubt find it the minute I switch my computer off), but being deaf I can't hear them. However, if the Silver Threads is the oldie then it reminds me of my father who used to sing it (loudly) as he gardened. And that wasn't yesterday!
'Scarlet Ribbons' had the same effect on me too - I've been trying to find the German version...
