Stay in bed

There's a big solar flare on the surface of the sun which is sending a blast of charged particles racing toward the earth, and it may possibly knock out communication systems and power-grids for a short while.

On the positive side, it may cause larger than usually displays of Aurora Borealis which might well be seen from fairly southern parts of the UK, sometime before dawn tomorrow morning.

The weather forecast for the UK tomorrow morning? Cloudy over most or all of Britain.

  2. Never seen it (and never will under this thick grey cloud). I think I'll just stay in bed with Dawn.
