Balls on Sunday

Sunday. I managed to get through the night without being troubled by the doll, but that's probably because I didn't really buy it. Someone else has probably had bad dreams instead. I passed a peaceful night impersonating Colonel Gaddafi as I slept. I'll have to get a uniform and dye my hair black.

Last night we watched the George C. Scott version of Scrooge in 'A Christmas Carol' on DVD which was quite relaxing. Scott's English accent actually improves as the film progresses, so they must have shot it in sequence. I don't know about you, but I always feel like bludgeoning Tiny Tim to death with his own crutch every time he says, "God bless us all" which may explain last night's doll post. I have to say that Alistair Sim makes a better Scrooge, though.

I am getting some bad vibes from H.I. as I write, because she thinks I should be cleaning the compact but adorable city apartment instead of wasting mine and everyone else's time by writing this drivel. So I will, but I'm going to finish this first and weather-out the vibes.

Actually, what is there to finish? I had better start cleaning...

  1. If you find yourself looking in tent shops, phone Tony Blair.

    1. Actually, my bed is almost big enough to get about half of his personal body-guards in too. I wonder if they are out of work at the moment?

  2. I've got a hat you can have with gold braid.

    Enjoy your dusting.

You've missed a bit Tom. There, over on the mantlepiece...

    1. When you said that ('missed a bit') I almost believed you had bugged our compact but adorable city apartment, Chris.

I've changed the header for a picture of the body guards, but I fear one or two met a sticky end.

  3. I'm beginning to regret not having been in the Woking Wimpy Tom.....you sound like a good catch ..... shopping, cooking, buying your own duvets, nice bottles of Rosé, cleaning ..... what else do you do well ?

    1. It's done and dusted, Donna. I have just finished cooking a huge meal for 4, and I have just finished doing the washing-up as well - don't you wish you had married me? (don't answer that)

  5. I had not noticed that smoke over my header picture of the Ribblehead viaduct Tom until you pointed it out. I am going past there on Friday (weather permitting) - shall look out for the ghostly train.

Pleased to hear that you follor H I's instructions and use the vacuum cleaner. Sounds to me as though, like the Aga Khan, you are worth your weight in gold. (Do they still weigh him every birthday or did that die out years ago?)

    1. I didn't know about that, Weaver. I would quite like my weight in gold at present - one of the lads is going through a financial crisis which he will probably lose us a holiday this year for.

      Aga Saga...
