The Clangers

In showing you the latest DVD I bought yesterday, I'm also reminded how cameras on iMacs reverse everything like mirrors. This can be a bit irritating, don't you think? Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching the first series of The Clangers. Life without Jimmy Saville will be so hard to bear, even if you never met him, unlike the lucky few million who did. I never met Oliver Postgate, either, but I know his ex son-in-law. Does that count?

  1. Yes I suppose it counts. Is the video played backwards or something? I adored anything written by Oliver Postgate too. They don't make 'em like that any more.

  2. I think I must have been abroad, and TV-less, when the Sregnalc were around... do they speak backwards too?

  3. Believe it or not, every episode was scripted, and sometimes included swear words.

    Not surprised about what, John?

If anyone wants this DVD for their kids (they must have children!) I will send it to them after I have seen it through. It would make a pleasant antidote to all the violence on offer right now.

  10. Tom I think you've just dropped one - a bit of a clanger. You've called Elizabeth, Moll, but we both love you anyway.

  11. Oops! I always get your sites confused! Better go over and apologise.

Ever heard of 18th century 'Molly Houses', John?

  13. There was supposed to be a 'Seaman Staines' too, Jacqueline, but I'm not sure if that was a rumor.

That's the ones, John. Many 'straight' passers-by were caught and imprisoned in those dark days.
