Maestro de la Caza

They have found a new Velasquez painting here in Merry Olde England. I wish I had found it.

  1. It's up for auction in December and should reach 2 to 3 million....lucky sod who found it.

  2. It was (I think) found in a town where I used to live on the South Coast. I must have walked past it every day...

  3. Everything becomes clearer with the passage of time... even who painted what, when, and where!

  4. Apparently an expert "knew" it was of value because of the " volume" of the head.?
I have no idea what that means

  5. Neither have I, John. It's the eyes that do it for me. With Velasquez portraits, you always feel as if the sitter is communicating his innermost self. I suppose that's what Velasquez saw - the whole picture.
