I had a free floppy 45rpm from Private Eye with this on it (along with something about lobsters). Pet-n-Dud's finest hour, this is the first time I've heard it since. It really is VERY funny.
I saw an interview with Dudley Moore once, reminiscing about making this album. Even he thought that Peter Cook went over the top - I didn't dare play that one.
tom plays the muppets
ReplyDeleteI have seen it all!
Whoever thought to have Pete and Dud's brilliant ' This bloke came up to me ' coming out of Statler and Waldorf's mouths was genius.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to lose a few 'followers'/'members' with this one.
ReplyDeleteNot the muppets I remember.

ReplyDelete"And then 'e fuckin' 'it me!" Brilliant. I miss Pete & Dud.
ReplyDeleteNow that nearly made me piss myself.
ReplyDeleteVery typical of any given conversation with the old boys down the allotments...
...and with the old women come to think of it.
Glad neither of these characters is a relation!!
