That, Tom, is his beloved chicken....Cro would be proud !!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hugs, oxo and missing you already !! ( I've had a few glasses of wine and my punctuation is now out of control !!!!!!!!!!! ♥
I generally dislike John Wayne but I liked him in the original "True Grit" and "The Shootist". "The Shootist" was a damn good film. The book it's based on is very good too. This is one of my favourite John Wayne scenes and I see that John Gray likes it too. http://theartofnotworking.blogspot.com/2011/01/one-eyed-fat-man.html
The Shootist was his best movie. You might say he went out with a bang. Most of his others were more or less the same; he always played John Wayne. I do like The Quiet Man. That was a pretty sexy movie for those times. I watch it today, and although it is very dated, there is something very raw, sensual and beautiful about it.
I watched John Wayne's last film recently (The Shootist), and.... it was very good.

He should have been President; he was a slightly better actor than Reagan.

ReplyDeleteFour people on a plane. From England, from France, from the USA, and a guy from Mexico.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly the plane starts falling out of the sky.
The pilot screams "We a losing altitude we need to get rid of some weight". They throw everything out of the plane, but it's still too heavy.
So the Englishman says "God save the Queen" and jumps out.
The French chap says" Vive la France" and he jumps out.
Then, the American (from Texas) shouts "Remember the Alamo!"...
And throws out the Mexican.
The old ones are always the best.

So there we have it. At last a movie start we can both agree on. (Thanks Judith). I wasn't too sure about 'Green Berets', though.
'Chicken' is a new one on me, Jacqueline (at home).
That's a very good point, Cro, and that's a very bad joke, Chris.
My Dad thinks he is John Wayne.
