I have just been told (by a friend, via Reuters) that astronomers have discovered a little planet whizzing around a star in our galaxy which seems to be made of a single diamond (artist's impression above).It's even glittering, which is what alerted the scientists to it's presence in the first place, because it is racing around a pulsar star which is spinning at several hundred revolutions per second (earthman).
The star itself is only about 20 kilometres in diameter, but that still must mean that the diamond must be a hell of a lot bigger than the Koh in Noor.
If only Elizabeth Taylor were alive today.
I read about this in some newspaper recently, and was rather worried that either Branson or Murdock would be already plotting.
