The Skatalites played in Bath last year, and I missed them. Shame, because the main man (forget his name) died very recently, so that was my last chance.
When Amy Winehouse first appeared, I thought she was the modern equivalent of Helen Shapiro, and everyone knew she would make it big. Then she started hanging around with that junkie, Pete Docherty (?), and it was all downhill from then on. A very public and slow death.
I could almost have rocked to this if I had not had arthritic knees Tom.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the not-so-subtle breaks where some sympathetic musician has tried to 'improve' it - I'll try to get the original to replace this one.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff for any time.
ReplyDeleteLove this sound, can't keep my body from moving to the beat.
ReplyDeletePoor Amy, a tortured soul. Everybody saw this coming, but you can't stop a trainwreck when it is on the wrong track.

ReplyDeleteThe Skatelites are one of my all time favourite bands. Ska lives!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I saw Amy sing was with Jools Holland. She was just wonderful. How very very sad.
