Kid by the 'Rainbow'! Wouldn't it be great?

You know when I was saying to Molly about how "Happy Talking" from 'South Pacific' would be great on a fairground steam-organ? Well I think that this one below fron the 1980's would be great played by our local heroes, 'The Rainbow Steel Band'.

Try to imagine it as a pure steel-drum number, and I think you'll agree! (I know a couple of them... maybe I'll request it...)

  1. I love steel bands but not sure about the You Tube version! It keeps stopping in the middle for one thing!! Yep, the steel band version would be good though!

  2. There isn't a You Tube, steel band version of this Moll. That's what I'm calling for. Maybe you've got a bad connection in your area, coz I had no breaks on the above video. It probably all depends on the server too - it's a miracle that all this stuff gets out in the first place, eh?

  3. It's when I hear music like this Tom, I'm happy to have spent the 80s singing Intsy Wintsy Spider and watching Sesame Street with my girls. Give me Rowlf on the piano anyday!

  4. I liked Kid C mostly for the clothes. His Zoot Suits were great! As were the Coconuts.

  5. I take it you don't like it, Jacqueline? I expect you found time to listen to a bit of Ultravox after the kids had gone to bed?

I forgot you've always wanted a zoot-suit, Cro! Well, I think you have reached the age now when you deserve to treat yourself to one - a bright yellow one at that. Show us a picture of yourself when you pick it up from the tailor.... (snigger...)

Hope that helps. Look up the 'Captain Sensible' version. I have friends who worked with him and he as mad as he seems.
