Sneak Preview

Here is Her Indoors' latest (unfinished) painting - oil on paper and about 17 inches by 24. Lovely isn't it? Can you see why I said that it should be called 'Number 173' ? It took her a while to realise. Her paintings are so subtle, that they are a nightmare to reproduce. It is not as flat as this image suggests.

She is building up for a 2 week, solo exhibition in Bath, beginning on November 18th of this year. It would be good to see you there. Come and have a drink on the opening night. I am telling you this now so that you can arrange plane tickets, baby-sitters, hotels, kennels, nursing-homes for your parents, etc. in good time.

I've already shown you her website, but if you want to have another look, go to

and no, she does not have the same surname as me ...

  1. I like her work - this one here is striking, and Havana is a favourite.

  2. 'Dancing the goldfish gavotte' is my suggestion. Do pass on my very best wishes for the show. We're trying to find a cat-sitter.

  3. She has done a whole load of 'Cuba' related paintings, Mise - difficult not to, it's such a lovely place.

  4. Each one is really spectacular. I like how subtle the shapes are, yet the colors are still really vibrant. I hope she has a nice showing!

  5. Personally I am rubbish at art and barely scraped through my Art'O'levels all those years ago but I love colour and know what I like. The colours of the fish are stunning and yes, Tom, I can see the number 73 you pointed out. Have had a look at your good lady's website and love her pictures, particularly the portraits. People show so much in the expression on their faces. Her art exhibition in Bath in November should be really something special. All the best, Molly

  6. Thank you, Molly. The top two portraits are of her (and mine now, despite no blood link) grandchildren, who we love dearly. I'll pass on your comments, but you can do so yourself if you come to Bath!

  7. I would have never noticed the 73 if you hadn't pointed it out. :-)

I love the painting you've posted above, and her "Gulls and Moon 2" as well.

  8. The 'Gulls and Moon' ones were seen on the building opposite our house, one wonderful night with a full moon. The building they are sitting on happens to be the City art gallery, where Her Indoors has 3 paintings in an exhibition starting this friday.
