I have arranged for a work experience placement for my film-studies lad with a cameraman friend of mine, who has all sorts of connections in the industry. When I was talking to my mate, I said that it was a pity he had not got work on the Sherlock series, and he said that he had - it was his 2 days of shooting which won the awards for the first series, but he got no credit. Immediately I experienced a touch of hero-worship.Tom Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979590950587415840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-63736841946042819032012-01-18T02:38:28.378-08:002012-01-18T02:38:28.378-08:00P.S. - We're going to watch it again tonight (...P.S. - We're going to watch it again tonight (downloaded) - they easily take two or three viewings back to back.Tom Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979590950587415840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-25278597343027808192012-01-18T02:37:11.720-08:002012-01-18T02:37:11.720-08:00Yes - this version is the most true to Conan Doyle...Yes - this version is the most true to Conan Doyle of all the hundreds of others, and it is amazing how cleverly it has been adapted to 21st century life. My 19 year old boy who is studying film at Falmouth confirmed my suspicions when he said the the cinema Sherlock solves all the problems by using his fists - that's what I guessed from the trailer. I'm not rushing out to see that one.

I expect you remember that when Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock in the serialised original (he got fed up with him) hundreds of people walked around London wearing black arm-bands. I expect D. Cumberbatch is getting the same treatment now, so it's a good job he is getting other work to off-set the type-casting.Tom Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979590950587415840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-24870452126018316842012-01-18T02:30:10.257-08:002012-01-18T02:30:10.257-08:00I suppose you can't get iPlayer in France?I suppose you can't get iPlayer in France?Tom Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979590950587415840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-65134985103663164052012-01-18T02:27:55.867-08:002012-01-18T02:27:55.867-08:00Me too, Jack@.
