Not to mention travelling on old spooky trains trapped with odd ball ( male) fellow passengers in those single closed compartments. AAAArgh. My parents would have been horrified. Actually so was I. He was certainly a one off so I doubt if you'd forget him, if ever you crossed his path.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01583541982504301756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-40658838701608517292012-11-16T12:25:58.979-08:002012-11-16T12:25:58.979-08:00We all get a turn - last Sunday was marvellous dow...We all get a turn - last Sunday was marvellous down here.Tom Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979590950587415840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-4197644448141779112012-11-16T12:25:14.492-08:002012-11-16T12:25:14.492-08:00Well well, Kate - I wish that Paddy had been there...Well well, Kate - I wish that Paddy had been there when I was on those dark nights. Sorry about that but then you usually get the good stuff down there while we are suffering, so makes a change. The Weaver of Grasshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947971556343746883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-64621191835420871772012-11-16T08:30:03.264-08:002012-11-16T08:30:03.264-08:00I grew up in Ash Vale! He ruled the station with a rod of iron but in the winter he always ensured that there was a roaring fire lit in the waiting rooms of what was still then a Victorian station. Get him on a good day and he'd even make you a mug of tea if your train got delayed for any reason. Then he was retired in the wake of supposed improvements. Now at the station there's very little shelter from the cold and gloom of winter, it's largely unmanned, and the plastic lean-too's they built in place of proper waiting rooms are vandalised on a regular basis. So much for progress!Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01583541982504301756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-54800471254308022412012-11-16T07:36:19.849-08:002012-11-16T07:36:19.849-08:00I've had that same feeling in some dark places...I've had that same feeling in some dark places.megan blogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04555646904983619596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2505385214324438018.post-1106849694333267352012-11-16T07:18:46.469-08:002012-11-16T07:18:46.469-08:00Very nice picture.
