Now look what you've made me do

This title was inspired by Cro's post. I've always wanted to use it and now I almost have the perfect excuse.

Everyone (that's anyone) seems to have taken on an air of defeated resignation this morning. Some people are resigning themselves to ten years of Labour government, others have vowed to spend the rest of their retirement trying not to think about anything political and everyone else is carrying on as normal by continuing to devote their lives to food, plants and animals to the exclusion of everything else.

I think it is down to election-fatigue - or we are just giving ourselves a little respite in the brief period before the next one, which will be sometime before Christmas. Think of it as political hibernation followed by a wake-up call in the middle of Winter.

Some people seem to have simply cracked under the pressure and use a flame-thrower on their garden to reduce greenfly numbers. IF I CANNOT ENJOY MY ROSES, THEN NEITHER WILL YOU!

I intend to carry on as normal by screaming over spilt milk.

  1. I have just been to the airport to collect the Mem-Sahib, and no mention of the election was made at all during the journey home. Is this a record?

  7. Yes. Scream about spilt milk is the answer, Tom. Not resting like "Rosebud, or Sleeping Beauty" - nor spraying one's Kiftsgate rose with weedkiller (sorry, Jackie! :-)
