  3. Jesus Christ - the first 4 are really suffering from extreme denial.

    1. Or stop thinking about the job to hand and start dreaming?

    2. Just think of it as Art and don't think of it as a personal attack.

    1. Ha ha! Never in my life have I heard such an extreme version of denial!

  6. What I really don't understand is how defensive all of the contributors have been so far. Could this be as a result of low self esteem?

  7. But of course! I almost always dream of getting out of there and sometimes I've been paid for dreaming about my employer.

    1. Yes, of course. At last, someone who admits to it.

  8. And also for making other people's dreams come true...

  9. As someone who's meagre income flows whether I'm awake or asleep, I suppose the answer must be YES. Do I win a prize?

    1. Yes. You win a candle lit dinner for two in rural France, but you have to cook it yourself.

  10. I've been paid for resting my eyes. I've also been wakened from a dream about a flies droning on a sunny window pane with a thwack from a teecher across my bonce, so I suppose that's a kind of payment too. But I never went back and shot everybody.

    1. Admirable self-constraint. I was hit a few times at school for the same reasons.

  11. Yes, I have been paid many times for dreaming and dredging up new ideas when designing new equipment.
Plus, I suppose creating poems also fits into that category.

  12. I was restoring some very expensive marble antiques for a very camp London dealer, and - as usual - he complained about the fee. "We here in Little Venice make dreams come true," he claimed. "No you don't," I had to remind him, "I make your dreams come true."

  13. If daydreaming about my eventual exit from my hated job, and drafting my resignation letter in my head counts, then YES. :)

    1. I have been paid to dream. I think they thought I was using my imagination.

  14. Yes I got paid to dream up ideas. We even had "duvet days" where we stayed at home to more easily allow our imaginations to create PR campaigns to support major national marketing launches of consumer products that you have probably all happily consumed. Eating my dreams. You paid for my kids expensive schooling and our holidays. Thank you.

  16. Of course not. You never bought any groceries or alcohol nor any other household goods. Or high end shoes or clothing. Or paid for any private health services. Nor have you or your young relatives been protected by various health service initiatives. No matter to me. I was paid for dreaming.
