Revolution? Nah...

An old fellow Guildford School of Art student (the photographer, John Walmsley) has just sent me this link to a TV program I had not seen before. It shows how (but not why) I spent the Summer of 1968.

  1. It wouldn't play for me. I'm obviously too young for scenes of moderate violence and my Mum & Dad would not give me the Parental OK.

    1. Maybe it only plays in the UK? Or Europe... at the moment....

  2. It wouldn't play for me here in Italy either...it goes blank and a notice says, "this content doesn't seem to be working - please try again later"

    1. There is one still of me, sitting outside the S.U. cafe - aged 16...

    2. I just watched it. To spot you I think I would need to watch it with you. However, well put together film and nice to see John Walmsley. Incidentally the woman who said they wrote to her parents rather than her to say she was a bad student/trouble maker still happens today.

  5. Oh well - closer inspection shows that it was not me in the film anyway - I have never worn glasses. I must be there somewhere...

  6. So you are more subversive than you thought...

    1. I have always known how subversive I am, and so has Cro.

  7. Tom, I am sorry to report I also was banned from entry. 1968 was my second year in New York. You would think that I would now be old enough to see the video, while I am still young enough to remember those years.

    Best wishes.

    1. It seems that the viewing is restricted to licence-fee paying U.K. It could be on You Tube, though.

    1. You'll have to move back to Britain for 10 minutes to watch it.

  9. John Walmesly is having an exhibition of his Guildford photos in Guildford right now. I won't be going, but I've just bought his set of postcards of the era. Maybe I'll post up a few images.
