The R in the car park

What a turn around - from being vilified as a child-killing and evil monarch, Richard the Third is now a talisman and pilgrimage destination for Leicester City Football Club fans from all over the world - especially Thailand.

Hindsight is all well and good, but I wish I had put a quid on that no-hoper.

Did I ever tell you that I met Garry Lineker once....?

  1. Wasn't Leicester populated by Idi Amin's expulsion programme?

    1. I don't know. Bath had a few, one of which became a friend of mine. There are many ethnic Indians and Bangladeshis celebrating in Leicester today and last night, I know that.

    1. Was he? I have told everyone in the past about how I was shut in a small W.C. with his ex wife, Michelle. That was a bizarre experience.

  3. I was "Born and Raised in Leicester"…to quote a Facebook group that I read.( I have been in Herts for many years.) Thrilled to see the Foxes win.
My cousin's parking space for several years was the one marked with an R over Richard! My husband went to the school next door. My only claims to fame!

    1. Fancy parking on a king every morning. To show you how much I know about football, last night I was talking to a life-long Leicester supporter (born in Leicester), and he said the Foxes would win if Tottenham lost or drew, and I said, "I thought it was Spurs against Leicester?"

  4. The only football game that I have ever watched live in a stadium was at Filbert Street when Leicester were at home to Spurs some 40 yrs ago. They are now at the King Stadium. Is that spooky or what?

  5. I'm thrilled that they won - now maybe our football (American) team has some hope!

    1. In a movie, maybe. You'll have to wait until Leicester have sold the rights.

  6. Hope and American football do not belong together. ;-)
