LET'S KICK ASS!!!!!!

I have now buckled-in to Chrome as Rachel suggested, and I grudgingly admit that it not only fixed the problem, but it is twice as quick as the previous browser.

Late last year, Grandson set up Chrome for me, probably thinking that I couldn't do it myself, but I sort of resented him barging in, not even giving me an opportunity to set my own passwords, etc, so I scrapped it. Once again, the young jump to conclusions about the effect of age on the ability to handle I.T. believing what the media tells them when it says that they are all born naturals who leave us old people behind in the technology stakes. Bollocks.

The other thing about Chrome - and every other browser alternative - is that it is set-up to be the most efficient information-gathering machine possible. When the geeks say that they are 'improving our experience', what they really mean is that they are improving their database on us. There really is no point in having a fake name as far as they are concerned - they know who I really am. What they don't know is what I had for breakfast, so they have to keep asking me that. This is called a 'survey', and it is to improve my breakfast experience. Honest.

Did you hear Sarah Palin's 'speech' in support of Trump this morning? The most frightening aspect is that he is actually supposed to be the front-runner right now.

  1. Point of interest: 'Trump' is a British slang-word for a 'fart'.

  2. When I heard Ms Palin on the radio this morning I had a mental image of all kinds of people in the US uhming and ahing and saying 'well she has a point' and it scared me that he may very well stand a bloody good chance.....please tell me this won't happen?

    1. Trump is a polarising force - just what you need in times of insecurity, when a rainbow nation should come together against a common evil. Trouble is in a democracy', 50% of the electorate are as thick as clam chowder.

    1. In this country, you are not allowed to make money from writing in prison.

    2. Btw, your header is not loading in my sidebar

    3. Your header is so fucking huge that Google does not allow any current photos to be downloaded on anyone's sidebar, unless they are paying top-whack to their server.

  4. I haven't seen this speech or heard her for a long time. All I can remember of her in 2008 is that she was embarrassingly uneducated. She and Trump have no chance.

    1. I really hope you are right.

If any American thinks it is none of our business what happens in U.S. politics, let me reassure them that it definitely IS our business.

  5. I didn't hear the speech, but I saw that she had on a sparkly number, worthy of a beauty (pageant) queen.

    1. She is good-looking, but only if you like that sort of thing. We used to have bets - Would you shag so-and-so? Yes, but only if I had a t-shirt printed up afterwards saying so.

  6. I am gobsmacked that Trump is the front runner.

    1. Let us pray that this poll just reflect a certain protest toward the current administration.

  7. I despise Trump and any idiot that would vote for him. I can't believe he's gotten this far. What an embarrassment to our country.

    1. Yes, I really feel sorry for the 50% of Americans who find him an embarrassment. There is something very weird going on right now.

  8. The party of Abraham Lincoln has become a national embarrassment. No matter who becomes the next president of this country (would you believe I left out the 'o'. Thank goodness for spellcheck!), the office will still be held by a democrat. First time since 1850 something a democrat will commence years nine through twelve of same party leadership.
I was dragged kicking and screaming to Chrome. Now it's my main browser. And, I read they are about to implement technology to make loading faster.

    1. Your spell-check saved you from a lynching I think, Joanne! I hope you are right about the rest. I too was dragged into Chrome, but I now actually quite like it. Most of us here are on copper wire, because the only way they will let us have fibre optic is by paying twice as much. In Italy, fibre optic is the norm - maybe that's a benefit of being a republic.

  9. The Great Scot and I have agreed: if Trump is elected it is back to Scotland for us. I'll brave the cold and damp.

    1. Maybe New Zealand is the answer, although I did hear of a Canadian newspaper today which had a front page stating that nothing had happened which merited reporting on the front page.

  10. I'm rather surprised that you were still using anything but Chrome.. it is miles ahead of all the old stuff.

As for The Trump and Miss Palin; I think they make a wonderful couple. Just imagine if they reproduced!
