White - the new black

Cro has been speculating on the forthcoming EU referendum, but no matter what happens, it will be difficult to un-carve a carve-up, as Jeremy Corbyn is about to find out.

Tony Blair said that if Labour wants to spend the next 10+ years in the wilderness, then they should elect Corbyn as the new leader, because he is unelectable in any other position. He also added that anyone who includes ideology as a main ingredient of modern politics needs a transplant.

He is so pathologically out of touch with his own party, otherwise he could never have said such a thing in public. I suppose what would you expect from someone who goes straight from bombing the hell out of civilians in the Middle East to creating themselves 'Peace Envoy' for the same region on a six figure salary?

'New Labour' was an anti-social disaster, and if any of its founders think that they could get elected on the same policies, then they are all completely and utterly out of touch with the electorate, and - as such - deserve to be unelectable too.

At least the old Common Market was ideologically designed to be what its title described it as. The European Union is the exact opposite but, as one of Hitler's henchmen said once, the bigger the lie, the more likely it is to be believed.

The other Hitlerian adage which was quoted - and employed - by the last Conservative government was the rule that any controversial legislation which entails the destruction and unravelling of useful and beloved social institutions for short term gain or profit, should be constructed in a way which makes it next to impossible to reverse - as Jeremy Corbyn knows full well.

  1. I don't really believe anything any of them say. It always saddens me that when there is an election of any kind people vote for their pockets rather than for foreign policy - which in the long run is infinitely more important.

    1. If we were all feeling a little less strapped for cash, then we could probably afford to be a bit more generous. As it is, the reason why we are strapped for cash is because of all of the domestic and foreign policy decisions made by New Labour - the same reasons which are forcing us to accept thousands of refugees created as a result of them. We cannot afford to take them in, but we are morally obliged to, having helped in a big way to cause the mess. Soon we will be legally obliged to as well under EU law. More poverty on the way.

    2. And before anyone jumps to their defence by saying that it is a global crisis not a single domestic one - yes it is, but London is a global centre of finance, and the British government have - until very recently - been following the USA into any military adventure which they were asked to.

  2. Blair may be 'out of touch', but he's 100% right.

    1. For that reason alone (if that's the way it turns out), Corbyn is doing some good. Shaking things up nicely!

  3. I don't think any party is much good and Cameron doesn't inspire me with confidence and the only thing that holds the Tories together is loathing of the Labour Party.
