A quick message from Roma, where I haven't yet earned to us a keyboard.
First night in Pisa, eaten by mosquitos, so now itch all night in Rome. Yesterday, the Colosseum, today, Borghese gardens and Etruscan stuff. It's bloody hot and it's bloody hard work, as are all holidays.
I 'm sitting on a stool for children, so this post is hard work too. I'm off. Italian broadband is super fast, though, unlike UK'S.
Have a cornetto
ReplyDeleteJust one?
DeleteHave two.
ReplyDeleteOne each?
DeleteKeep away from the mozzies too. In fact wish I knew how to write 'death to mozzies' in Italian.
ReplyDeleteMorte del Mozzies! ?
DeleteEnjoy!
ReplyDeleteApart from the (h)itches, it sounds great. Have a nice time.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing is having to watch all those girls in tight shorts walk past.
DeletePlease post photos!
ReplyDeleteI can't but I would'nt anyway. You would believe the amount of selfies taken around here - idiots.
DeleteWhy on earth are you posting blogs when you are on short holiday? And in Rome. You are worse than Rachel and John. No satisfying life outside the virtual? Worrying times. Would I do the same if I still had a blog. Maybe. Why? It's all madness, madness I say. Well anyway enjoy the weather and the food.
ReplyDeleteSame reason I do at home - escaping from horrible reality.
DeleteWe walked for about 4 miles trying to find the Villa Giullia yesterday - the signage is atrocious and I followed an underground metro line - above ground.

ReplyDeleteI heard you the first time.
DeleteNow I am suffering from the same malady as the rest of you.
DeleteWhen in Rome, do as the English do.
ReplyDeleteHave five cornettos. What's a cornetto?
ReplyDeleteAbout 10 euros.
DeleteEven this hotel lounge is teeming with fucking mosquitoes - I'm off.
ReplyDeleteStop grumbling and enjoy yourself.
DeleteIt's all very well for you to say that. You get treated o the spectacle of someone being thrown from a 4th floor building - this would have been part of the package in ancient Rome, as it is in many other places run by ISIS.
DeleteI thought "what a great way to get the dirty washing down, very ingenious", then I realised there was still somebody wearing it..
DeleteJust got back from the Vatican, and have come to the conclusion they just carried on where the Caesars left off. All that opulence. No taste whatsoever. I missed an audience the Pope too - he's in Cuba, and he knew I was coming. The bronze Greek boxer is also on loan to the effing US now as well.
ReplyDeleteDid you meet the one migrant they are taking?
DeleteYes. I gave him Cro's address and said he will be welcome.
DeleteI am laughing very very loud sitting here..
DeleteI think this could be the last trip to Rome I will make. I had better not throw a coin in the Trevi fountain.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason I am not boring you more than I am is because I have to type standing up, with an erection.
ReplyDeleteOk, I lied about the erection, but it could be arranged if you really want it. Not you though, Rachel, before you get any funny ideas.
Fuck off.
DeleteOk, I admit that I had rather too much wine last night, but it is difficult using this keyboard on a high table and low chair.
