La Piuma

Just a nice cloud I saw this evening, that's all. It was massive. I wish I had my proper camera with me, but this is the phone. I thought you might like to see it before you go to sleep.

  1. I wonder how many ways the wind was blowing, up there.

    1. Very good. Perhaps it did begin as a contrail.

    2. It was very high (strata variety) so the thin bits were made of ice. I think it was in the process of meeting a warmer airstream and turning into the cumulus variety. Within 10 minutes, it had virtually disappeared.

    3. P.S. the bend in it is from the easterly push of the different airstream, I think.

  2. It could just as easily be a picture of sand beneath water; swept-up in a similar way.

    1. Good job I captured it for you then. I am guessing you snored loudly last night?

    2. Thanks. I am still clearing the alcohol from my bloodstream from the Azores so I am not actually drnking st the moment, if that is what you were alluding to. What you saw last night was me stone cold sober.

    3. Really? And I thought I knew you so well.

  4. Feathers kept coming up in Italy, and I kept thinking of the Italian word for them, so to see this in the sky yesterday was sort of unsurprising.

  5. I can't be arsed with another post today, so I'll just rant here for a while.

Feathers are associated with the sky, and it is sort of poignant to see one floating down to earth. Feathers are associated with archery too, but arrows fly faster than birds. The goose quill is also associated with writing, so this image would have been more significant before the days of Mr Biro.

Or am I just trying to make my little life a bit more meaningful?
