W.M.D. - T.B. - G.B.

I know I keep coming back to the subject of the now defunct, Anglo-American 'special relationship', but since it has become defunct, people are understandably seeking reasons for the billions of pounds lost on, and thousands of lives sacrificed for the Iraq war, as prosecuted by Misters Bush and Blair.

If any scapegoats should be sought in this country, then you couldn't do better than to ask Tony Blair a few relevant questions. The publication of the transcripts of all the hundreds of phone calls and letters which passed between our Prime Minister and the President during and in the run-up to the invasion have - yet again - been blocked for reasons of 'national interest', and they have been blocked by none other than Mr Blair himself. I wonder why?

Our current (Conservative, in the main) government can do nothing to speed up the publication, because the decision to come out in the open can only be made by the administration who were in power at the time, namely 'New Labour'. The President of the U.S.A. would be in a similarly impotent position, even if he were being asked questions about the whole business, which he is not.

All of this would not be so fucking galling if Tony Blair had just shrunk into the shadows to give after-dinner speeches for £40,000 a go and let everyone else try and clear up the mess like he was supposed to, instead of getting himself the most highly-paid jobs on offer, the most inappropriate one being 'Middle East Peace Envoy'. Peace Envoy! For Christ's sake!

And - to make matters worse - he says that it is for Christ's sake. He has turned into a bible-bashing, pompous, evangelistic talking-head who pops up constantly on the British media to give his bloody opinion about everything that no longer concerns him, like some elder statesman who never made a wrong decision in the whole of his self-serving and sordid career.

Can you imagine how angry ordinary British people get when they are lectured and moralised to by a man who not only single-handedly destroyed the real Socialist party which others had spent so many years fighting to create for them, but also lied his way into a bloody war which has all but destroyed any possibility of genuine peace in the Middle East and left an aftermath of blood behind it which is still being refreshed to this day?

There can be no doubt that the factions that make up the world-wide group of murderous fanatics called Al Quaida have been greatly assisted by Tony Blair's involvement in the revenge for 9/11, and they seem to go from strength to strength whilst using another 'ally' - Pakistan - who even the Americans are becoming utterly exasperated with.

There are lessons to be learned from the Iraq War - vital lessons - but the British Labour Party do not want them to be learned. That might cost them the next election.

  1. Hello Tom,

Loo and lavatory come instantly to mind.......or was that on the previous post? We get muddled these days.

    1. Just as I predicted, thank you. You must admit though, 'toilet' as in, "You toilet!" makes a great insult, but only in an Estuary accent, which I am convinced you do not have.

  2. Blair said on Radio 4 News this week that the publication of documents in the report has nothing whatsoever to do with him. He lies so much he thinks he is telling the truth, truth and lies have blurred together in his head and then he throws himself down and prays. Amen

    1. Yeah right. One lie on the end of a string of others going back about 25 years. There are very few poeple I find physically disgusting just because of their personalities, but he is one.

  3. You can't trust these Public School, Oxford University, types. They don't live in the real world, have never had a proper job, and walk all over the downtrodden poor. (Actually, isn't that what the lefties say about Tories?)

    1. The reason why UKIP are doing so well is that you cannot get a cigarette paper in between any of them, they have merged so well into the cynical world of power-hungry psychopaths. Give me the old-school Tories any day.

  4. I've never liked Tone ….. he actually turns my stomach. Not only does he lie for England but was nauseating when he spoke after Diana died and don't get me started on sending his kids to The London Oratory claiming he was sending them ' state '. ….. and now, Nick Clegg is sending his son there !! Sorry …. I've gone ' off piste ' …. just more things not to like about Mr. ' cousin of George Bush ' Blair !!! XXXX

    1. Have you ever met anyone - absolutely anyone - with a single good word to say about him?

  5. Do you remember me ranting and trolling your comments section in early September last year when the tories were elected by marginal stupids to take over our beautiful lucky country?

Unfortunately, resorting to drinking and hating for the next three years has been pronounced by the Surgeon General as bad for my health. So I've decided to medicate and sleep for, like, a hundred years.

    1. Sorry. Blair was never President of Australia.

    2. I have had one ear out for the latest misogynistic rants from Tony Abbott, and he never fails to please. That clip of Julia Gillard you put up crushing him was one of the best bits of political commentary I have ever seen. I must have watched it about 8 times.

How on earth could Australians vote him in in favour of her?! Then again, I knew a lot of lefties who held parties to celebrate Blair's office. The parties didn't last long.

  7. I knew DubYuh was painting self portraits in the bath tub; no idea Tony was thumping bibles. A good liberal infusion generally is corrected after eight years. Sadly, we needed the Dub gone before 9-11. More sadly, it's a hundred year mess he left behind.

  8. As Joanne said, what Bush and Chaney did will have repercussions for decades to come. Bush went away to paint badly, but Chaney with the transplanted heart ( from the devil, I think), continues to mouth off on his opinions.

    1. Bush has done what Blair should have - go away and pretend to be an artist. Artists are almost beyond blame, or so non-artists think. Something to do with poetic licence.
